Our dedicated team of hawking Technicians are handpicked from our existing team of pest Technicians, so are already fully trained pest controllers. Â Â The training involved for one of our team members to become a falconer is in depth and requires extreme dedication from the individual as this is probably the most difficult part of pest control to master.
A great deal of training goes into our falconry response birds, to make sure their behaviour is conditioned to do exactly what is needed on each individual site. We have a mews (places birds of prey are kept) with at anytime around 20 individual birds that have been trained for the specific tasks at hand.
These range from the smallest merlins and kestrels that would be the natural predators for starlings right up to huge Gyr falcon hybrids who are a predator of Northern sea bird colonies.
